Description

Silver denarius of Faustina II, wife of the Roman emperor Marcus Aurelius and one of the most prominent imperial women of the Antonine dynasty.

Faustina II was the daughter of Emperor Antoninus Pius and the wife of Marcus Aurelius, making her one of the central figures of the Antonine imperial family.

Her coinage frequently emphasizes divine feminine virtues and protective deities such as Diana, Venus, and Juno, reflecting the important symbolic role played by the empress in Roman imperial propaganda.

The coin displays typical circulation wear with identifiable portrait and reverse type.

Later Mounting

The coin was later incorporated into a modern jewelry setting.

The bezel was produced using 3D wax printing followed by the lost-wax casting process, with electroplated metal over a copper base.

This mounting is modern and non-precious and can be removed if desired.
